COMPOSER BOOT CAMP 101: PROFESSIONAL PERSONALIZED COMPOSER COACHING 
In this self-paced composer intensive for musicians, educators, composers, and songwriters, you will undergo a challenging course that will stretch your current musical talents by working on:
  1. Developing a musical theme
  2. Learning how to arrange in several different styles
  3. Prepare and perform a work
  4. Create a legible score and parts
  5. Work on simple orchestration and arrangement

You will compose music under the mentorship and direction of award-winning Composer Sabrina Peña Young. This course will be individualized based on your current skills, interests, and ideas. You will work with Composer Sabrina Peña Young on developing your skills and musical ideas.
Course Requirements: Knowledge of Music Theory, Basic Knowledge of Music Notation, Ability to Play or Sing, Ability to Read Music. Access to music notation software. Ability to record works or develop MIDI realization. Basic computer skills.

Other Requirements: Students will be expected to have access to the Internet, be able to submit score files in pdf form (either from music notation software or scans of handwritten scores), and have a way to record and e-mail a live performance (can use a smartphone, camera, digital recorder, etc.).
The course is self-paced, in that you can complete each assignment according to your skill level and schedule. For this course to be successful, it is recommended that you take the course when you have a set block of time each week that you can dedicate uninterrupted to composition. Ideally this course should be completed within four to eight weeks.
