2015 Sundance Composer/Director Roundtable: Word of Wisdom Part 1

BMI’s 17th annual Composer/Director Roundtable, entitled “Music & Film: The Creative Process,” was held on Tuesday, January 27, during the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah . The informative conversation, which is a cornerstone event at the Festival, was moderated by BMI Vice President of Film/TV Relations Doreen Ringer-Ross and explored the role of music in film. Focusing on the relationship between composer and director, panelists discussed what goes into creating a successful film score, the ingredients of an effective composer/director relationship, the Sundance Film Festival experience and other relevant topics. This year’s participants included composer H. Scott Salinas and director Matthew Heineman of Cartel Land; composer Ilan Eshkeri and director Jared Hess of Don Verdean; composer Bryan Senti and director Michael Almereyda of Experimenter; composer Miriam Cutler and director Kirby Dick of The Hunting Ground; composer Peter Golub and director Chloé Zha

BMI hosted its 15th annual Sundance Film Festival composer/director roundtable, entitled "Music & Film: The Creative Process," on Wednesday, January 23 at the Sundance House presented by HP.Focusing on the relationship between composer and director, the panel is a cornerstone discussion at the festival on the role of music in film.Topics discussed included the formula for creating a successful film score and the ingredients of an effective composer/director relationship. Quick Musician Tutorial: EASY Making CD Album Cover with Comic Life 3

In this musician youtube  tutorial I am using Comic Life 3 to make a basic CD Album cover . Comic Life is used for graphic novels , but I have also found it helpful for album covers, book covers , posters, dvd covers, and other forms of music marketing material. Its a lot easier than Photoshop (with less options, of course), but for around $30 USD, you can't bet the price for what you get.
